RESERVE FORCE ROLE

The role of the Reserves is confirmed as the following:

To augment the Regulars in ongoing operations and activities of Defence.

To provide certain specialist and scarce skills to Defence.

To form part of the Core force design.

To provide the expansion capability of the SANDF for major combat operations.

To enhance the relationship between Defence and the Public and Private sector employers and the community at large.
